Vishwaguruji’s Devotees on the banks of the Holy River Ganga during Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
With the blessings of the Sun and Moon, life flourishes. In the same way, through the grace and guidance of Vishwaguruji, Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwarananda Ji, a dedicated group of Yoga in Daily Life devotees from India, Austria and Poland had the opportunity to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. They participated in the Second and largest Shahi Snan on 29 January, a sacred bathing ritual on the auspicious day of Mauni Amavasya (New Moon).
A Spiritual Journey in the Heart of the Kumbh Mela
Yoga in Daily Life devotees, with Swami Jayadevi Mata Puri from Poland, spent five divine days immersed in the spiritual and sublime atmosphere of the Kumbh Mela. Amidst the presence of saints, sages and millions of pilgrims, they experienced the profound essence of selfless service and devotion.
One of the most inspiring aspects of their journey was witnessing nishkam karma (selfless service) through the Netra Kumbh initiative, a project dedicated to combating preventable blindness. This humanitarian effort provides free eye check-ups, spectacles distribution, surgical procedures and awareness programs, to the vast gathering of devotees attending the Kumbh Mela.
The initiative is driven by 150 doctors, 500 optometrists, 400 additional medical professionals, and countless volunteers, offering their expertise from January 12 to February 26. The group was guided by Dr. Praveen Kumar Reddy Ji, Chief Medical Officer of Netra Kumbh, who engaged them in meetings, interviews, and even leading morning prayers, further deepening their involvement in the selfless mission of service.
The Sacred Shahi Snan on Mauni Amavasya
The second Shahi Snan (holy bath) took place in the early hours of 29 January, on the sacred day of Mauni Amavasya. At 2:30 AM, the group peacefully walked from their camp to the banks of the River Ganga.
The atmosphere was filled with joy, serenity and an indescribable spiritual energy emanating from the holy river. At the golden hour of Brahma Muhurta, the group took a bath in the Holy Ganga, experiencing a profound sense of purification, renewal and divine connection.
The calm energy of the river inspired them to meditate, culminating in a heartfelt chanting of Sri Shiva Arati as the first rays of the sun illuminated the horizon. Throughout their stay, the group continued to return to the riverbank for meditation and the singing of Sri Guru Arati, with their hearts connected to their beloved master, Vishwaguruji.
Encounters with Spiritual Leaders and Humanitarian Organisations
In the spirit of "One in All, All in One" a teaching of Hindu Dharmsamrat Paramhans Sri Swami Madhavanandaji, Holy Guruji, the group had the privilege of meeting many spiritual teachers, social leaders, and humanitarian organisations.
Accompanied by Sudhir Kumar Ji, a respected social worker in India and speaker at the Opening Ceremony of OM Ashram, and Colonel Neeraj Kumar Ji, a devoted disciple of Vishwaguruji from Delhi, the group engaged with:
- Ashish Bhaiya Ji, founder of Divya Prem Sewa Mission, an organisation providing free medical care to people with leprosy and other underprivileged individuals.
- Swami Narendranand Ji, National Secretary of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, a non-profit organisation with hundreds of sannyasins, both sadhus and sadhvis, serving the most needy in India and many more.
All welcomed them with deep respect and admiration for Yoga in Daily Life, Vishwaguruji, and his lifelong mission of service and spiritual guidance.
A Pilgrimage Blessed by Vishwaguruji
The entire journey was made possible only through the protection and blessings of Vishwaguruji and the Om Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara. As their time at the Maha Kumbh Mela concluded, the group continued their pilgrimage to OM Ashram, the true spiritual home of all Yoga in Daily Life devotees, to have darshan of Vishwaguruji.
This sacred journey of devotion, selfless service, and spiritual upliftment will remain etched in the hearts of all who participated, strengthening their faith and dedication to the path of Yoga, in their daily life.
